The Fairytale Syndrome
I just recognized the severity of the “fairytale syndrome”… I don’t know if that term actually exists….But I am referring to those (sisters and perhaps even brothers) who compare their lives, aspire and strive for their lives to be like that of a fairytale!!
Haven’t you heard of those individuals who dream of their “fairytale” wedding and they NEED to have that fairytale, Cinderella- like dress, and they literally wish for their happily ever after, and supposedly after they live happily ever after with their prince-charming, no disparities, no tears, nothing of that matter, whatsoever will exist.
If we wish to live on this duniya, that concept will never appear, it will never exist.
The concept of a happily ever after and of a prince charming(of no faults, and all that good stuff, haha) is only in Jannah.
Allah SWT clearly says in the Quran:
“…And what is the life of this world, but goods and chattels of deception?” [57:20]
In addition, “…The life of this world is but comfort of illusion.” [3:185].
This life, the life on this duniya (world) is only a deception, an illusion!
And you know what the makers of the fairytales have done?
Deceived us… Created this TALE that is glorified, and exaggerated.
Allah SWT warns us, and in a loving way tells us, this life is only an illusion.
Do not get sucked into lies and especially these tales.
We are living in this duniya that has both happiness and sadness.
We get so caught up in these fairytales that we watch, and even read about, that we get caught up in trying to create one of our own on this duniya.
The life on this duniya will soon pass.
InshAllah, inshAllah, inshAllah, I want a happily ever after in the here-after.
And, I hope the same for you, inshALlah!
