Dear Culture,
Stop identifying and labeling men as “money-machines”, or as workers of society
They too can learn nurturing skills, and learn practical manners that will bring together the family, like child-rearing.
Allah SWT never said that men should solely concentrate on making money. There are billions of things, either small or large, but both significant that men can get involved in (either as a son, brother, husband, or father, etc).
Culture policies men to obtain this “masculine” role. But, what does being masculine, even mean?
But to be honest—- there is nothing masculine or heroic about dismissing important aspects like helping your wife around the house, or even taking care of your children.
I’ve seen it, men are hesitant to do something that they usually see their mothers do. Because it eventually becomes embedded within us that this certain task or responsibility is pertained to women only. And, they may even be ridiculed for doing something that has a title like: “supposedly women can only do it”.
Lastly, there is nothing “un-masculine” about being the best and helpful husband or father.
